How to delete (uninstall) a theme in WordPress
We’ll tell you about the easiest way to delete a template (theme) in WordPress – deleting via admin dashboard. And also describe the second way, if for some reason you can not delete the theme from the admin dashboard.
Deleting from the admin dashboard
This is the easiest way. Go into the admin panel of your site. Then in the left menu select Appearance -> Themes

Next, choose the theme you want to delete. For example, it is Twenty Twenty-One. Hover over it and click on the “Theme Details” block:

Next, in the bottom right corner, in the modal window of the unfolded block, look for the red “Delete” button. And click on it:

Click on OK in the pop-up window and that’s it. The theme is deleted.
Uninstall via FTP or file manager
You can delete a theme directly, without entering the admin dashboard. To do this, you just need to get into the folder of your site, which is stored on the hosting. You can do this via FTP, or you can do it through the file manager of your hosting provider.
- Go to the folder of your site and then look for a folder named wp-content
- Then go to the folder themes
- Here already is a folder with your theme. Find it by name and just delete the folder, as you normally do on your computer.
As you can see, there is nothing complicated here. It’s easy to delete a theme in WordPress. But if you still have questions, ask them in the comments.
